The Naltar Valley (Urdu: وادی نلتر) is a valley located approximately 34 kilometres (21 miles) from the town of Gilgit in Gilgit−Baltistan, Pakistan. it's far a forested region regarded for its dramatic mountain surroundings and for the three lakes-Strangi Lake, Blue Lake and Bodlok Lake. Ski competitions are held at Naltar ski motel.
The government has constructed an 18 MW hydropower plant, Naltar Hydropower Plant-IV that is operational because October 2007, near Naltar Pine, similarly to three smaller hydel strength producing flowers (Naltar I, II, IV of three.02 MW blended) already there, to meet the strength requirement of the region in addition to Gilgit. As of 2019 Naltar-III and Naltar-V Hydropower projects of sixteen MW and 14 MW era capacity respectively have been underneath construction.
A hairraising drive to Lake Naltar
Lake Naltar is a high mountain emerald green lake, at an elevation of three.228m (10,590ft) above the ocean stage, positioned in the Gilgit District of Gilgit–Baltistan territory of Pakistan.
positioned inside the coronary heart of Naltar Valley, the street to the lake is nestled amongst snow-topped peaks and towering forests. It’s completely unpaved and challenge to flooding. It’s a protracted, treacherous and hairraising pressure. The path is dangerous. not recommended to freshmen.
4x4 vehicle required. The road runs parallel to the Naltar river. The river and the road, both are equally frightening. Starting from Nomal, the road to the lake is 29.4 km (18.3 miles) long. It’s called Naltar Valley Road. Be careful: this road is not for the sissies. One mistake can have consequences.
