      Burushaski story : Girii xheer

 

Once upon a time there was an Ibex who had three little kids named as (Shiri zon, Mamo zon, Tuti zoon,).

She used to go far away meadows where she eats fresh green grass. After returning back to home she feeds her kids with milk.

 Once on a Sunny day while going to meadows as usual, mother Ibex warned her kids about giant and told them strictly not to open the door for anyone except her, until I utter these words “(shiri zona zon, mamo zona zon, Tuti zona zon askumux ayo mayatum hing ar donina)”. The kids listened to it all by ears and told her mother to don’t worry about them. After that she left house heading towards lush green meadows in the mountains. Meanwhile she left home, a terrifying giant who had listened to their conversation, came to the door and roared these lines of the song “(shiri zona zon, mamo zona zon, farma zona zon askumux Ayo mayatom hing ar donina)”. The kids which were playing inside became attentive and started to listen the song all by ears. The eldest kid was wise he noticed that the sound is not familiar. He said “it is not a sound of mama; it might be a hungry giant on the door came to eat us”. And not let them open the door. However the youngest one was naughty, jumped to the door and said excitedly “mama is over there, let me open the door, she is here to feed us”. So in excitement he swiftly opened the lock. In front of him he found a huge furious giant instead of his mother. He entered with his big feet thumping. Little Ibex tried to hide to but they failed. A hungry giant caught and ate them all in once than he slept calmly with a tummy full. After a while when a mother Ibex reached back home and called them to open a door uttering “shiri zona zon, mamo zona zon, askumux Ayo ar hing donina”! But nothing happened. She recited it once again but no one opened the door; all she heard was only a silence. She wondered tried again and again to open the lock by herself. At last she broke the door. What she saw inside was a huge furious giant slept on a couch. She said to him in anger you bloody did you
